I'm not fully sure about this one... I'll probably pass it, since the Estoril and the Bronzo are almost sure to join my stable.
It's maybe a tad too generic for me, but not in a negative way, with the seiko-ish dial and rolex-ish case...
Yep, in terms of dial lume, I think the best option would be to have the indices lumed and the 3-6-9 numbers simply painted white... Which indeed calls for a white lume, methinks, for coherence.
It's not a question of "modern looks" but of actual use when diving (or really timing stuff in general). You either don't need a timing bezel or need it to be accurate to the minute. For better even accuracy, a chronograph is a god sent, but... more expensive and "riskier" in terms of water...
I'm not too much of a fan of DLC watches... Actually I only have one, titanium DLC'd.
But there might be other people who like that (well there certainly are, since we see quite a few watches in black DLC being produced ;))
And the larger dial numbers indeed look better!
To me, that's better!!!
And that solves (a bit) that problem with the dial numbers that looked a bit small. By making bezel numbers smaller the ones on the dial look larger!
Interested in any info on that, too...
But I feel like the "Estoril" has a lead on that bronzo...
Well, I'll see how things unfurl, but it'd be nice to have a bit of time gap between those two watches... like 2 or 3 months?
Very promising...
Would it be possible to have a "point" or a "micro index" below the bezel numbers? To have a more precise timing, it'd be very neat. But maybe that would make the numbers a bit too small?
Sa
I'm with you on most points.
- Bracelet ? Would be nice but I can very well live without it on this type of watches... The Royal Navy version had soldered lug bars and could not be on bracelet.
- Size, 41.5mm is perfect, with short-ish lugs, that's a great size, neither too big nor too...
I had to change to another watch tonight (they wear growing jealous...) but took one last pic of the SF before putting it back in its box for a few weeks!!!
Just to add a few things on the hex tool. Lucky that I read it was in a small brown separate package and that I had kept (for whatever reason) the main package. I looked in it and... lo and behold, here it was!!
Works perfectly (and that was a good thing since two of the four lug screws were not...
It's arrived!!! yesterday, actually... And in those 24h it's lost about 2s resting crown up for the night.
It's almost perfect, I'm very glad I ordered it. Thanks, Maria !!
Until my SeaDragon, all my watches with 9015 movements have been within -2s/+7s a day, and quite stable. So it is one of he few movements I've never even tried to regulate myself.
The SeaDragon was rather too fast for me when I got it, +15 to +20s a day the first few days. Being away from home...
Regarding the lume, it's not super nuclear bright like Seiko's Lumibright, sure, but it's bright enough to be usable. And better yet, it remains bright enough for a long time. In the morning I can read the time clearly (in my very very dark bedroom) almost 7 hours after having gone to bed.
A...
Can't say for sure but it took 8 days from Portugal to my door (in France) with the SeaDragon. I hope it'll be about the same for the ScorpionFish and suspect it's going to be similar to Poland... Count on about 10 days, I reckon.
