Can you explain this to an ignoramus like me? I would have thought that if you moved the crown to 4 and left the aperture for the date window at three it wouldn't have mattered at all, since the date wheel would still be a 360 degree rotating wheel designed to be read from the horizontal line...
So I just preordered the Estoril Blue Triangle No Date. However I'm not a big fan of NATO straps so I'm thinking of replacing the factory strap with a mesh strap.
However I'm not sure which will look better - silver or blue.
What do you reckon?
From a purely financial efficiency viewpoint, there are far, far more 20mm watches out there than there are 24mm ones.
These straps are very viable on sport / outdoor watches, not just divers.
The long side fits, but what took me a few minutes to figure out is that it's a single-sided screw that screws into the through-bar - it doesn't screw to the case.
So you need to put the 2nd long side in the opposite lug, and then put the long side in the close lug and rotate. It'll unscrew...
My Batial (brown no-date version) arrived today, and I immediately put it on the new natural rubber Borealis strap. Loving the look so far.
P.S. Yes I realise it doesn't really work with the business shirt!
Indeed. It's $10-15 to buy whatever strap you personally wish - not worth spending time and effort at manufacturer end sorting out. Maybe if it was a bracelet or something.
Maria, a question for you : Given the Batial is CuSn8 bronze it will form a nice patina over time. Are you confident enough with the Viton/Tefzel seals that you'll still allow normal warranty period if a patina is applied forcibly with e.g. copper nitrate solution, liver of sulpher, very salty...
Man, I wish I had preordered a Seafarer now :( And now between the Batial upcoming and the preorder on the Bull Shark I doubt I can afford to.
The all-blue one is sensational.
<shrug> As per my post in the other thread, as long as the option you want is available, I don't understand why the care for what other options will exist.
As for production costs, those are Maria's business, not ours. But from what I know of manufacture - it's likely producing a fixed piece of...
I assume you realise that the main Bull Shark model still has a (likely to be glossy) diver bezel and that the fixed bezel option is just an 'option #2' variation? If you want a dive bezel then just order option #1 of the same watch :)
Yep, saw that previously - however would be interesting to see what you can come up with with all the recent experience on your watches since then - from what I've seen your quality (and also refinement) just gets better and better with each new watch :)
