I am a newbie to the Borealis Watch Forum and would like to say hi and give you a brief account of my watch collecting "history".

I first started interested in watches when I received my very first one way back in the late '60s. Yes, I am an old geezer, but please don't laugh! It was a manual winding Enicar with an 17-jewel in-house movement. Unfortunately, I got mugged within a few months of ownership of this watch. I still miss it though after so many years!
My second watch was a late '60s Seiko 23-jewel Lordmatic automatic with quick set day-date and hacking feature. It was a big deal back then even for Swiss made watches. I still have this watch but it has not been working well since I had it service at the Seiko Service Center about a year ago. Needless to say that I will never go near that place again!
Since I acquired my Seiko Lordmatic, I had owned a variety of watches like a Citizen manual winding chronograph ('70s vintage), a Timex electric watch (not a quartz), a Seiko digital (mid seventies), a mid-80s Seiko divers watch (good for 10 Bars), a couple of garden variety Seiko quartz jobs, a Seiko kinetic pertpetual which I still have, a late-90s Tissot autoquartz that died just recently. Coincidentally, my Seiko SKX-007 also kicked the bucket of late!
Currently, my collection entails the following pieces:
(1) A 38 mm black-dial Hamilton Intramatic automatic with an 2893 ETA movement. It is accurate to an average of +2.5 seconds per day over the course of a month with daily wear. Not bad at all for a movement that is not COSC certified.
(2) A PVD Rose Gold Tissot Le Locle COSC Automatic. This watch can track within +3 seconds a day over a few weeks.
(3) A Seiko SARB033 (black dail) automatic with the 6R15C movement I picked up in one of the Japanese watch web sites. This one is just as precise as the Swiss watches that I have in my collection at half the cost or less!
(4) A Dagaz Aurora Dive Watch with the Miyota 9105 movement that is accurate to within +3 seconds a day right out of the box. This was a very low volume issue (100 pieces or less!)
(5) A recent acquisition of a "Pilot style" watch, the Techne Goshawk (black PVD) with the Miyota 8217 movement within a small 24-hr sub-dial. This movement is not nearly as accurate as its sister movement 9105. Depending on my activity level that day, it could range from +2 seconds a day to +10 seconds! On leather band, this is a very light and versatile watch.

Now, that brings me to my latest purchase or actually it is a pre-order of a Scorpionfish to replace my expired SKX-007. I chose the white face with Plongeur hands.as I have never owned a dive watch with a light color dail. I am so looking forward to the Scorpionfish getting to the production phase!

BTW, does anyone know when the first batch of Scorpionfish will be ready for delivery? Thank you in advance.......

I have got to run......

Tony
