By TLex While it certainly started life off as a divers model (at least in the hands of ML's marketeers), the Pontos S has taken a bit of a back seat as dive watch to its sybling the Pontos S Diver, which is bit more serious. You can see its latest version the the Pontos S Diver PVD, here. However with 200 meters of water-resistance and slew of features that one would expect to find on any typical dive watch, the Pontos S is still a worthy contender a dress diver.

For 2015 ML have a released new version of the Pontos S, the Pontos S Chronograph Ref. PT6018 which comes with a new movement, the ML 157 caliber (base Valjoux 7753) with increased functionality, a new dial layout (accordingly) and a quick date change (new pusher at 10 o'clock) - not forgetting its new green highlights. The rest of the watch is otherwise the same.

Functions of the ML157 include: hours and minutes indicated by central hands, a small second at 9 o’clock, a chronograph seconds indicated by central hand, a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour chronograph counter at 6 o’clock and a date indicated in an aperture at 6 o’clock.

Specifications of the 25 jewel, rhodium plated, ML157 include a beat rate of 28800 alt/h, 4 Hz, a power-reserve of 46 hours. It has been adjusted to 3 positions after full winding and after 24 hours. The dial is black sun-brushed with: snailed and sandblasted finished counters and applied markers with generous amounts of SLN.
